This is a great place to have a meal on the way to Desolation Sound or Pender Harbour. We stopped in early June 2025 after accidentally finding it open on Google Maps. The last time we were in Secret Cove other folks had it and it was called the Upper Deck, sadly closing after the COVID epidemic. We had given up that it would ever reopen only to find a marvelous tasting menu with a great setting.

We stopped by for some ice cream around 4 pm. And it turned out to be a perfect timing. Their fisher boat just delivered spot prawns, so we ended up buying some (18 per pound). The place itself is nicely located. They have sitting areas both indoor and outdoor. Very lovely!

We spent 3 weeks in Italy this spring, and this is the only meal of that quality we’ve had this summer since returning. Highly recommend eating family style with suggested wine pairings. Just an unbelievably memorable evening.

Fantastic team The customer service was great! We came with our 8 month old and the staff were very friendly and welcoming to her which always make a dinning out experience better. Every dish we ordered was delicious. My favourite was probably the lamb. Good wine list as well. Best food we’ve had on the coast to date.

Such a beautiful location with fantastic food and service. We got the tasting menu which was incredible. Great cocktails, great wine list. 11/10 experience. Can’t wait to go back.

Literally the best hidden gem. True Italian food. Its not obvious when you come up to secret cove marina. Theres a sign that says upper deck cafe but head to it, La Bettolina has replaced it. Chef Anthony and General Manager Jen are fabulous, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They made our anniversary night absolutely perfect. They gave us local suggestions and were incredibly welcoming. The Pane was this grilled toast with cheesy butter and I wish I could eat it daily. I had the Tagliatelle and my husband had the Gigli. Both incredible. A must try!

A hidden gem that is actually hard to find :) had lovely service from Jen and she took the time to explain the menu to us since we are not familiar with Italian dishes. The food were delicious and I especially loved the presentation on the entrees. The menu changes every month or so often so it is not posted on their web site. When you get to the marina parking, the restaurant is right by the water, look for "Upper Cafe" sign.

Creative, clever, fresh, tasty outstanding presentation. Setting is great, service is wonderful. Everything was finished perfectly. I could go on about pork belly, or mussels or halibut, beef.... Even the cocktails were imaginative. This was one of the top meals I have had, anywhere, and the value is outstanding. Every boater near hear should stop.
